The King of Western Video Games
Pros:
The side missions make for lots of extra fun.
Cons:
The game was over long before I wanted it to be.
The Bottom Line:
The western genre is very under represented in the video game market, but if youre looking for just one Wild West adventure, this is the one.

Author's Review
Not that there are a lot of Wild West games available for the PS2, but out of the few that are out there, Gun remains the best. The game play is very user friendly, the shoot outs are extremely well done, and the action moves very quickly.
If I have any real complaints about the game, it would be that it perhaps moves a little too quickly, and its pretty easy to finish the game in less than a days worth of playing. But, its also such an addictive game that youll probably find yourself playing it more than a few times.
The story moves along fast, but you can take your time at it, and there are plenty of side adventures to enjoy as well. Whether its rounding up criminals as a lawman, mining for gold, hunting down fugitives as a bounty hunter, or working as a ranch hand, these side adventures are almost more fun than the actual main storyline behind the game.
The characters are nicely rendered too, with the vocal talents of Thomas Jane, Kris Kristofferson, Lance Henriksen, Brad Dourif, Ron Perlman, and Tom Skerritt, this game is hardly amateurish in its storytelling. If youre looking to include at least one western adventure in your video game collection, Gun is probably your best choice.
