I was looking for a radio with good am reception. I got alot more. I found this radio to have great am reception, great FM sound and reception. The short wave function is an added bonus. This is my first experience with short wave and it has been fun. My first night using it I was listening to the BBC and Radio Havana! I love the fact that no batteries are needed. Jut a little bit of cranking and you are ready to go. Overall I think this is a wonderful rugged little radio. For a newbie to the shortwave world, this is a great introduction. A nice value, I would reccomend this radio!
