I admit it, I am addicted to Grey's Anatomy. It is my show of choice and I love everything about it.
I have watched and rewatched every episode of season 2 in this DVD set that contains 6 Dvds. The packaging of these Dvds is annoying but once you watch the show you kind of forget about how frustrating this packaging it. The DVDs lay on top of each other in a weird way and if you want to quickly change from one episode to another from one DVD to another it is a bit of a challenge.
Lets talk about these Greys Anatomy people. First there is Grey. Meredith Grey, daughter of Ellis Grey the great doctor from Seattle Grace Hospital. Ellis is an alzeimer's victim and will only see Meredith, but then she begins to see the cheif of surgery. Now the chief of surgery once had an affair with Ellis Grey and we relive many of those moments with Ellis and Meredith as Ellis in her senile state recalls her affair and her divorce to Meredith's father Thatcher Grey.
Then there is Derrick Shepard. He is McDreamy! He and Meredith are hopelessly in love with each other, but there is another Dr. Shepard, an obgyn that Dr. McDreamy is married to. As a result, Dr. McDreamy and Meredith struggle with a relationship that contains the first wife. Lo and behold Addison Shepard, the obgyn had an affair with Dr. McSteamy! Dr. McSteamy is Dr. McDreamy's best friend...and so it goes.
The interns,Meredith Grey, George OMally, Izzy Stevens, Alec Karef and Christina Yang have their own numerous adventured with amazing medical cases, and love affairs. OMally is struggling with his family issues, Izzy accidentally kills the love of her life Denny, who happens to be a patient. Alec is a huge pain in the ... and Christina is having an affair with Preston Burke, and lies about Preston's surgery.
While all of these people lives are played out, we learn to love them all! Addison Shepard, as awful as she is can be my obgyn anytime! I think she would be a fantastic doctor. If I ever need brain surgery I hope Dr. McDreamy will be holding the knife. If any of you need a running whip stitch done on your heart you better call for Dr. Yang! Dr. McSteamy is a plastic surgeon and I do not like him I have to tell you.
Ok so you get the full picture. This is a soap opera. A simple soap opera. However, this soap opera contains so much more than the average soap opera. This is a soap opera about surgeons. In this soap opera we learn the heirarchy of the inner lives of people who work in the medical field. Trust me, if you watch this show you will never look at doctors the same way again!
General Hospital was my show when I was a kid. I started watching it when I was 7 years old with my grandmother and I remember Dr. Hardy and all of the people who were the original cast. But that show now pales in comparison to Grey's Anatomy. The story lines hook you in so well that you will honestly feel every emotion in your body as you watch these 45 minute episodes. Watching the DVD without commercials is fantastic. I love to just watch over and over again and not be interupted. Unfortunately, having the show on DVD is bad for me because it makes me want to watch the next episode and like a good book I cannot "put it down" so to speak. Some nights I stay up until midnight just watching this show. Every time I watch it I feel exactly the same way as I did when I watched it the very first time. It has an amazing effect.
Now, I do not know if any of the medical cases talked about in this show are factual. I am not sure why anyone would eat doll heads or if a pole could really spear through two people. But I do know that my hero from this show is Dr. Bailey.
Dr.Miranda Bailey is a spit fire. She has common sense written all over her. She is blunt, she is strict and she is wonderful. She is the resident in charge of the interns. She is hard as nail and soft as a marshmellow all wrapped up in her little self. She is a manager, a teacher, a leader and a mother! She role models proper behavior and when I saw her hit one of her interns upside the head with her "Nasty" comment I knew she was my hero.
I recommend Grey's Anatomy. My family watches it on Thursday nights faithfully, and having season 2 uncut is great when we need to see this show and have to wait a whole week for the next episode to come out. This show will encapture you hook line and sinker. You will crave the next episode. The 28 episodes on this Season 2 DVD will satisfy your craving!
Wonderful show...watch it and enjoy!
