Product Review

Lots of problems

by   rpeck ,   Jul 24, 2006

Pros:  Great interior configuration and flexibility.

Cons:  Has trouble keeping foods cold enough. Freezer drawer does not pull closed like most brands.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

We have had so many problems with our GE Monogram refrigerator that I would recommend against purchasing one. In hot weather, we can't get the temperature below 40 degrees, which won't keep food fresh for very long. And if the bottom freezer is not fully shut (which is easy to do since it doesn't close automatically like most brands) then water will melt and then freeze in the pipe that connects the freezer to the fridge -- resulting in a too-cold freezer and too-warm refrigerator. The only solution -- as offered by several different guys who came out to figure out our problems -- is to take out all the food and unplug the unit for 48 hours. We've lived out of ice chests three times now, and tried everything to get satisfaction out of GE -- to no avail.
