VERY disappointed
Pros:
Simple to operate. Steel tub. Extra large load size. Sleek, clean appearance. Top loading.
Cons:
Unreliable. GE does not come to repair in timely manner. Parts needed not available.
The Bottom Line:
I cannot recommend this washer or GE. I would not want anyone to encounter the problems I have encountered with a relatively new washer. The warranty apparently means very little.

Author's Review
I did a great deal of research before selecting this washer and dryer as a replacement for the set we have had for many years. We have had it for only three-and-a-half months, and it suddenly stopped working. The lights came on the control board, but no water would come on to begin to fill the tank. We tried the few trouble-shooting recommendations in the manual and looked online for suggestions, then went online, as recommended when we called GE, for warranty service. The next available service call was eight days away. That was unacceptable to me, so I continued to search for other authorized GE warranty service providers who could come more quickly. I found one who came today and determined that my three-month-old machine needed a completely new control board assembly. He told me that his company does not carry the part and it would take 5 to 7 days to order the part. Then once it comes, they could reschedule a return visit to install it. I was disturbed about that and told him, "Thank you. I'd find another servicer who would have the part in stock and could get my machine up and running more promptly." I called several more appliance repair places, ultimately learning that NO ONE carries the parts, that all of the authorized service providers order directly from one source - GE - directly after they diagnose the problem following the initial service call. I contacted GE and learned that the part I need is backordered and it might be three weeks before it will arrive at GE! I voiced my frustration, and they said that's just the way it goes.
Two thoughts come to mind: one - there must be a problem with this washer model if the company is out of this major part. Many people must need to be replacing it! And two -when you buy a new machine with a warranty, it really means very little in terms of inconvenience ahead. It means the machine might eventually be fixed free of charge, but it could take weeks to happen.
I don't know the solution to my problem, but all I can deduce from my experience is that GE products are unreliable. Their GE service call availability is unacceptable, and our family suspects that this particular washing machine deserves a recall of this part.
We wish we knew what we should do next! Sadly, we are headed to the laundromat again tonight and wish we had kept our old reliable appliances instead of spending over $1,000 on this GE washer and dryer set!
