The Bottom Line: If I did not spend so much money on this it would be in the trash.Save your money and time avoid ge products
First of all let me start by saying I was told to stay away from GE products {washer dryer}by a friend of mine who is in the washer dryer repair service. But one not to take good advice I purchased the set anyway. The set worked great for the first year then all hell broke loose. On the dryer the blower motor stopped.I called GE for a new one being under warranty and me being a good mechanic I figured I would replace it myself instead of taking the day off.no problem if the would of sent me a new motor but it was used and did not work. How did I know it was used ?It was covered in lint.So I had another one sent this time it was brand new and it did work.Fast forward one year and its stopped again.Well it works when it feels like it.On top of that there is no heat.I call a GE to send a {$85.00
supposedly qualified mechanic he has no idea how to work on these type of dryers. He makes a guess i change the part and guess what, did not work.So another supposedly qualified mechanic is coming out to make a guess. So to my surprise my friend new what he was talking about after all,Stay away from GE products if you know whats good for you.Their junk and the service men are all but qualified at least to work on these products.11/22/06 Had a second service man come out from GE. found the problem. Its is the gas valve assembly a 179.00 part 150.00 to install on top of the 85.00 service fee I paid the first service person that came .On top of all this I find out these two parts are defective and have been changed quite frequently by this service person. You do the math.
