A Sporty and Not-Too-Big SUV for a Growing Family

The Bottom Line: This is a buy, the combination of looks, price, utility and compactness make this a nice family car. I only wish we'd been able to wait and get the hybrid.

I love my 2002 Ford Escape XLT-but it has gremlins

The Bottom Line: This SUV is truly best in it's class. I could have picked any SUV, including luxury, and I loved the Escape the most.
Review: I purchased my 2002 Ford Escape XLT in Oct 2001. It is yellow with leather seats, tow package, sun/moon roof and the upgrade Mach stereo with the 6 disk in dash CD. I absolutely love this vehicle.

Review: Sharp looking body design with the contrasting color on the bottom. I like the nice heavy, solid doors, too. I enjoy being able to access the cargo area using either the window or the door and it has plenty of room in the cargo area for groceries...

Great little SUV, but by the upscale XLT

The Bottom Line: Great price for an SUV that fits in your garage and also carries everything you need.
Review: I don't actually own an escape, but I still drive them everyday. I work for Hertz Rent-A-Car and we have had the escapes now for almost a year.

Review: We bought it new and everything was great for a while. then the alternator messed up in 04, no biggie it was under warranty so ford 'fixed' it. same thing in 06... no warranty, and it isnt easy to change the alternator the front end has to be taken...
