A Stunning Performer!

The Bottom Line: This is a superb printer at a fabulous price. I highly recommend it!
I selected the iP4300 based on reviews. I purchased it at my local Office Depot. I had heeded the advice of other reviewers and gotten a USB cable; the printer comes without a printer cable.
Printer setup and driver installation were all straightforward. Getting familiar with the Easy PhotoPrint photo printing software was easy.
After printing my first few trials, I was absolutely amazed with the quality of the printouts: colors were absolutely stunning and faithful, details were pleasingly crisp, tones were really delightful. The printout beautifully showcased my high resolution shots. I will still occasionally take my photos to a professional photo store because I don t want to deplete my ink cartridges, but I could barely notice a difference between my 8 X 10 printouts and a professional store s ones.
Note however that Canon doesn t advise on which side of the paper to print on, as several reviewers have pointed out, so be careful to print on the whiter side, or you will sorely be disappointed. Setting print quality to High and using the Vivid option on the printer offered the best results for my taste.
A great advantage of the Easy PhotoPrint software is the ability to arrange several shots on one sheet, and hence save on paper. It also allows you to print a neat contact sheet, which a dedicated photo software like Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 does not.
An interesting factoid: the $99.99 (SMP) printer comes loaded with a full set of cartridges that are estimated at $ 66.24, which drops the price of the printer proper to $ 33.75. Very nice deal for such great level of quality!
I am absolutely pleased with my iP4300 and have highly recommended it to my dearest friends and family members. Great quality at a great price!
