Good printer, Fair Scanner

The Bottom Line: Its a semi-fair deal, buy if you really only want to do printing, dont buy if you expect to do much scanning, especially for anything not perfectly flat.
First off, it is great that it works with my Mac. Others on the market only state that they work on Windows based systems. I had an issue with it printing my pictures crooked on the paper when I first went to use it, even with the help, hints and suggestions from their tech support, but it worked itself out after a few days.
The pictures are of a good quality, I scrapbook and print pictures for frames around my house, and it does as well of a job as the local photo printing place, plus I like being able to use my iPhoto to crop and edit the pictures first.
I have a backlit monitor, so the images are always darker than what my "preview" shows, but I have learned to judge that and compensate when editing.
Scanning is much more frustrating than one that I had used at a friends house (not sure brand or type). Even after I clean it, I get white spots all over my pictures, even when I use the built in function that is supposed to eliminate them. Also it only scans Flat pictures, not 3D objects at all. Anything that is not flat up against the scan surface will be out of focus and blurry.
Something I noticed when I bought in recently was that the price had gone up by several dollars. I guess because of inflation, but those few dollars per cartridge really adds up fast. Not Cheap.
