I heard great things, but I don't think it met them.

The Bottom Line: Wait till Epson comes out with a better model that is more ink conservative and doesn't have all the quirks.
I really can't say too much other than I had to return it because I was happy with it. I had called pre-sales to see how many dvds I could expect to be able to print as that would be my main focus. He told me quite a lot, so I expected a very minimum of 25 to 40 dvds. Besides that, I read a review on cnet.com that said the person got 125 dvds printed with still 15% of the ink left. I had heard after being printed on the dvds can smudge, but he assured me that Epson had taken care of the problem and that after 24 hrs they wouldn't smudge. So I went ahead and bought it. After printing on only 5 dvds my ink was depleted by half. This didn't seems like it would print 25 to 40 dvds let alone 125. And even after 24 hrs the ink could would smudge. I found a solution for this though: spray on clear coat (but is really easy to mess up and after paying an arm and a leg for the printer I don't think you should have to do this). I also don't like the ergonomics of it. You have to push down a tab to make it switch to dvd printing that when pushed down hard (which you have to do) makes a load crashing sound. The first time I did it I thought I broke the printer. Also if you turn on the printer and it in dvd print mode you have to restart the printer. This may not sound like a big deal, but the dang thing takes a while to start-up b/c it runs through some ink check thing. Lastly, I've never heard a printer so loud!
