Fisher-Price Sesame Street Elmo Live

After seeing the comercial for the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy many times on television. And through demo and ads on the internet I began thinking about buying one for my son for Christmas, he is 14 months old and loves Elmo. A couple of months ago we saw it in the store. In the Walmart department store to be exact. My son saw it and loved the try me mode. I had hoped to get it for him for Christmas!

Where to get it and how much it will cost:

Well,Christmas was coming and I figured it was time to go buy the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy for my son. I went to the Walmart where I had seen them before and they were sold out. So was every one else. A place called Craigslist which I often go to for my holiday needs was crazy. Between them and Ebay the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy was going for nearly a hundred dollars. I ended up getting lucky and seeing that Amazon.com had just gotten them in stock the week of Christmas. I bought it from them for only $49.99 and had to pay express shipping to get it on time. But they do have it under the free shipping section of the site. If you don't mind waiting two weeks for the delivery.

What he does:

Well he is in try me mode when you open him. You need to pull the loose tab out of him. I would recommend replacing the batteries too. A try me mode toy has cheap batteres more often then not and they won't last long. You need a phillips head screw driver to remove the single screw on the battery case.

Once you have good batteries in the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy just turn his switch on. Now he is ready to play. There are buttons on his back, stomach and foot, but there are also sensors on him as well. He is a very interactive toy. Press his foot to get him going. His mouth will move perfectly to what he is saying. He is the only Elmo doll that I have ever seen that looks and feels as if he is the real deal thing.


Elmo can tell you jokes, play games like Elmo Says and things of that nature. His will stand and sit through out talking. He will ask you to hug him, scratch his back and more. He also asks you to move in closer so he can tell you how much he loves you and he extends his arms to show you just how much! The Fisher Price Elmo Live toy will blow kisses, make sound effects, sneeze, sing, dance with you and much more.

The Fisher Price Elmo Live toy can even tell when he has fallen down and he asks if you will help him back up again. Then when you do help him up again he thanks you and tells you that you are his very best friend! It is just too cute. For the small price that you will pay for it, the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy really does a lot of things and keeps your child entertained. It never really repeats it's self. It goes on to other things. It has a lot of phrases, songs, jokes, games and more to keep your little one busy.

Age recommendation:

The Fisher Price Elmo Live toy is recommended for children ages 1 year old and over. Of course at the young age of one your child may need help locating and or puching the right area. My son at 14 months of age has gotten it down all on his own with in just the past week. It is rather simple to play with.


Fun factor:

My 14 month old son has a blast with the dancing and singing parts, but his favorite part about the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy is when it blows kisses to him. He laughs out lous over it every single time. My daughter who is six years old has taken to the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy as well. She plays the Elmo says game which is like a version of Simon says. It last quite a while too. She also likes the jokes that he tells. She finds them to ve bery funny.

Recommendation:

So in buying the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy I ended up pleasing both of the kids instead of just the baby. This makes the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy even more worth the money that I paid for it. It really does more then I had expected it to. They made such a big deal about TMX Elmo when it first came out and when we bought that it did not do anything the old versions did. So when I first got the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy I was not sure that the hype was true. But now I know that it is. I can not imagine them ever being able to top the Fisher Price Elmo Live toy. It is by far the best Elmo on the market today.

This Fisher Price Elmo Live toy is not machine washable but can be surace washed with a damp cloth. I ahve done it twice already to remove stickness fromt he baby touching it while snacking on food. The Fisher Price Elmo Live toy has also been dropped, thrown and pretty much stomped on by the baby and it still runs good. It has no flaws or skipping. The voice is clear and you can easily understand every thing that Elmo says to you.

The batteries should last a while. The kids have played with this Elmo every day since Christmas for hours a day. But Elmo has a shut off timer built in. If he is left un touched he will turn off with in just a few minutes to save batteries which also means that you save even more money. That is some thing any parent would like. He is also packaged quite well. it is that new frustration free packaging where it un winds off of the plastic piece rather then hasving to twist and turn things. I like evry thing aout it. I highly recommend it.
