Let's Get Our Wrestling Game Out First...

I have been a wrestling fan my entire life, and as of late I have taken a liking to the extreme style of ECW. So naturally when I saw that Acclaim release an ECW wrestling game on what is supposed to be the premier video game console that is out to date, I had to get it.

Letdown is not a strong enough word to use to describe this game. It is basically taking Acclaims WWF n64 game and changing the logo's and names. Basically no difference. The gameplay is the same as the WWF game on the N64 with no real improvements on graphics or sound to any extent. Was Acclaim trying to cash in quickly on the Dreamcast crowd? I think so.

Don't get me wrong, it has all the things you would want in an ECW game, from blood and weapons to Roadkill and "the real f'n show" Rob Van Damn. The problem is this game is not great, like what is expected with the Dreamcast's power. If you are a diehard ECW fan, you will probably enjoy this game, but don't expect anything to great, just another one of the same old wrestling games. Hopefully the next company to release a wresting game on this console will make a truly great game and not disappoint the Dreamcast owners.

Also to note is the many glitches that can and do occur in this game. From once using the wrong audio lines (commentary names) to many times the game just locking up for no reason, adds to the disappointment with this game.
