A Very Good Unit

Date of Review: Aug 13, 2005

The Canadian version does not have the Sanitizing feature. It doesn't have the ability to produce higher levels of ozone. It relies on ionization and UV to control the dust, odors and bacteria. It does this by creating low intensity radio waves that travel out from the unit 60 ft. in all directions. This is not needle point ionization that is limited to the area the unit is in. These waves are positive and negatively charged. All dust particles are also positive and negatively charged. The radio waves act as a magnet. As the suspended dust and odor particulates find their oppositely charged partners they join and increase in mass. This will continue until they are too heavy to stay suspended. They fall to the ground. Get out the vacuum. The UV feature is used in many commercial buildings and pool systems, both public and privately owned. It is known to eliminate bacteria from the air and water. So far our unit has been a completely reliable, quiet unit that's definitely helped to keep the air in our house cleaner. Those that complain due to ozone it's producing, turn the sanitizer down or buy a Canadian version.

Pros
Does the job it's supposed to do, and does it well.
Cons
Cost is more than some, but does cover a 3,000 sq.ft. area
