Lil Wyte - A white boy's hero

by   djskinnypimp ,   Oct 22, 2003

Pros:  Beats, Lyrical Talent

Cons:  None for a first CD

The Bottom Line:  Buy this CD now. It picks up where Eminem left off and gives white people like me hope.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

1. Doubt Me Now - (Song) 3/5
This intro is basically just introducing you to Lil Wyte, where he's from, and what he's about. Like many of us out there, he's aspired to do this his whole life, but thje difference is he's made it. This song i sbasically a 'screw you' to the people who doubted him in the beginning.

2. Blame It On Da Bay 3/5
This song is a good second song, it has very tight beats, and the lyrical flow is unbeliveable. It describes what happens in the M-Town, the 'ghetto' gettin blamed for all the evil and hate in the city.

3. We Ain't Playin' 4.5/5
This song is one that I can't skip over no matter how many times I hear it. It describes in detail the hate he sees and how it makes him feel. "I got no love for them haters tryin to stop what i'm doin, this sh!t goes on I rap prolong and best beleive i'm pursuing"

4. Zero Tolerance (F*ck Them Laws) 4/5
The beat in this song is only matched by the lyrical description of his trip to ATL to buy drugs. He describes so eloquently the way the deal goes down, and he doesnt care that it's illegal. Classic.

5. Sh*t Faced - (Skit)

6. In Here 4.75/5
This song describes all the qualities Lil Wyte has, such as drunkest, highest, crunkest, toughest, buckest, roughest, mo-fo in here. He describes that even though he's white, he's with the hardest click and he's reppin Bay just as hard as anybody.

7. Players In Da Atmosphere 3.75/5
This song isn't as strong as the rest on the album but its still got tight beats and raw lyrics. The chorus is a little weak, but it's still tight. at the end of the song Paul has a hard rap and then the Juiceman says" I can make that thing wet like a SpongeBob" and "Im nothing like the MC but the ladies call me Hammerer". This alone makes me love the cd.

8. My Smokin' Song 4/5
Self Explanatory, but a great song, however unoriginal. Still, it has a tight beat with Wyte flowin like only he can about smokin weed. Very well done

9. I Know You Strapped 4/5
At first, the track doesn't sound impressive, but it is. It talks about suckas gettin drunk, high, and thinkin that they're hard, but they still won't do anything because they're fake. Also a good part is when Wyte tells Paul to slow the beat down mid-song, very tight.

10. Good Dope 4/5
"Platinum products get dropped daily up out this facility
" Enough said

11. Com'n Yo Direction 3.75/5
THis is a song about Wyte and who he hangs out with, The Good Ole Boys, and what they do all day. Very unique look into the life of a rapper. Except for the beat, which sounds like something out of a jukebox, very solid song.

12. Oxy Cotton 5.25/5
The entire reason why I bought the CD without hearing it first. A lyrically impressive song with CB and Lord Inf rapping, they describe the pills they pop. The beat is too nice and hits way hard on your subs. Hope your CD player has a Repeat function for this one.

13. In The Streets

14. Drop It Off 5/5
Another favorite off the cd, this song talks about HCP knocking off a bank with the help of an insider. Not only that, it describes the getaway which is very intense. Add the tight beat and it's all she wrote.

15. Don't Take Those - (Skit)

16. Acid 4/5
This track has a beat that makes you actually understand what Wyte's talkin about even if you have no idea what LSD is. He talks about all the ridiculous things it made him do and it may be stupid stuff, but its hilarious.

17. Crash Da Club - (remix, featuring Juvenile) 2.5/5
By far the only low point on the CD. If you have heard the original Crash The Club from the Project Pat CD, you'll be dissappointed with this remix. It's all right until Juvenile starts. What ever happened to Cash Money?

18. Ten Toes Tall 4/5
This song is further stressing how many people hate on Hypnotize and how they still dont give a f#$%. Haters can hate all they want, and say what they want, but Lil Wyte will still be standin Ten Toes Tall.

19. Death & Life - (Skit)

20. Homicidal, Suicidal - (featuring Outlaw Josey Scott/Chris D)5/5
This is probably my favorite all-around song on the album. Its so good, in fact, I listen to it before work everyday. The way the beat hits and the lyrics flow gets my hyped enough to put up with 10 hrs a day of stupid people.

21. Get High This 4.5/5
This cd, like most HCP CDs, has a 'posse song' where all the artists rap in one song, all showing off their talents and complimenting others' talents. The lyrical masterpiece that normally comes on HCP CDs is only further complemented by Lil Wyte's style. If this white boy can't Flow, I don't know who can.

22. Replacement, The - (Outro)
