Dollhouse Minatures Magazine

I receive a subscription to the Doll house Miniatures Magazine this past Christmas. My mother bought me 2 years worth. So far every Doll house Miniatures Magazine I have gotten has been great.

My daughter and I build doll houses. Everything from plastic to wooden kits, even hand built using our own themes and designs. This is a tradition that began with my mother and I when I was three. My daughter is four and has been helping me build since last year. Of course she only does the painting and helps me glue things but she is a very big helper.

The Doll house Miniatures Magazine helps me out a lot. It give me such great ideas. This magazine has showed me how to make my houses look more realistic. It has shown me how a little paper can do a lot for a doll house. How you can make your own wall paper and rugs. I mean, everything I have read about it is so great and easy to follow. So far the best thing I like about the Doll house Miniatures Magazine is the fact that is gives me a guide to new stores and also new on line stores I can get to right from my computer. It helps me see all of the new and hottest items and where to get them.

The Doll house Miniatures Magazine has printed pictures of real readers houses. Custom built and furnished. With the dolls posed inside doing various things. This to me is great. It gives me hints and idea about what I want to do next. I just finished a blue house and am on to another. I am not sure if I am allowed to post pictures on here, so I jut will post a few links to my finished doll house for you all to see. I sent these same photos in to the Doll house Miniatures Magazine and I hope that they will use them in an upcoming issue some time. That would make my day.

The February issue had a contest running that had a contest in it. You have a chance to win a gift certificate to a miniature store on line if you win with your entry. All I had to do was fill out my name and address on the card and mail it. No postage needed. I have just as good of a chance as anyone else I guess and I love contests anyway. They are fun to participate in.

I have learned how to order other books. Like miniature knitting for making blankets for the beds and curtain making . They give you access to books about people who have been building doll houses for years. They show pictures of children standing next to the finished doll houses. They remind me of my daughter. So proud and happy to own it.

There have been some sections that deal with molding and modeling clays, certain kinds you can bake to mold. What kind of items you can make and how to go about shaping them correctly. They go in to details about what sculpting tools you may need to complete the job. What are the best kinds and cheapest price to get them for and where. Just a lot of useful information for those who love the hobby like we do.

Doll house Miniatures Magazine has good and informative articles on what glues are best for wood, plastic, your shingles and moldings. They let you know what products work best for wiring your doll houses and making them seem 100% just like a real house would be. They show finished houses with electric, and unfinished houses that are being wired. They walk you through certain parts. Tell you about the voltage certain things need. Like lamps, ceiling fans and more.

There have been so many useful tips that I have gotten from the Doll house Miniatures Magazine over the past few months. I am surely going to renew my subscription when it runs out in 2009. It is well worth it. They have a 1 year special for $29.95 you can get a years worth of issues. That is on the card they enclose in the Doll house Miniatures Magazine mis way through. It is like a cardboard post card type of a thing. My mother ordered the subscription through a magazine promotion form inserted in one of her credit card bills. But I believe you can order the magazine on line as well although I have not looked into it as of yet.

There is also a portion of the latest magazine that allows readers ideas to be given on make a dream room in a doll house they are building. They are going to take the readers ideas that are best and combine them to make the perfect room with the nicest look. Then they are planning to put pictures of the finished doll house inside of the magazine. It makes you as a reader, feel more involved, and makes you feel more a part of what is going on. I like that a lot.

The bottom line is this, in just a few issues of the Doll house Miniatures Magazine I have learned how to make new items for my houses, rewire and wire houses, what lightings are the best and brightest, how to mold items that I make to fit the size of the house weather it is half scale or 1 inch average scale. And I have learned much more. The many articles are very helpful, they are fun to read and I as a doll house building fan, can honestly say that I not found a single flaw in the magazine. Even the pictures are clear, bright and most are close ups to show greater details. I like that as well because I am the type of person to want to see every single detail of the objects I am looking at.

I love the Doll house Miniatures Magazine. My daughter can't read yet but she enjoys looking at the pictures with me. I do very highly recommend the Doll house Miniatures Magazine. There is great info to be read. Nice picture to be seen. There is not a single thing that I do not like about this magazine. I am very impressed with it. Again, I highly recommend it.
