2008 Avenger R/T - I like it!
Pros:
Price - Performance - Options - Great looks.
Cons:
Interior fit/finish. Could use a padded dash and some padded cloth on the doors.
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend the new Avenger- (R/T only) for anyone looking for an affordable, fun, automobile - keep in mind, looking at fit/finish, this is NOT a $40000 vehicle.

Author's Review
Ok, we did our homework - test drove Chevy Malibu, Saturn Aura, Mitsubishi Sonata, (but not Toyota and Honda, too expensive) cars in our price range (including a 2009 Avenger SXT 4cyl. and a 3.5 Sebring Convertible) and we settled on the 2008 Avenger R/T. We actually knew that the interior finish was "plasticy" and not the best fit and finish. (We weren't looking at Mercedes and BMW either). But once we drove this baby with the 3.5, it was all over but the paper signing.
It feels like it's got "broad shoulders", it's tight in the turns, the ride is firm but not too firm, power makes you smile especially when tap-shifting with the AutoStick. In short - we love it. For the price - it had everything that mattered to us.
We didn't skimp though - we got all the options including Power Express Sunroof, MyGig Infotainment, Navus, all leather, heated seats and cup holder (cold too) and chrome "clad" wheels. (not to be confused with chrome wheels, these are 18" steel wheels with a heavy-bonded plastic hubcap). One review I read on the Net said after four years he loved the chrome-clad wheels on his Ram truck. Easy care, durable, "greener" than chroming and always a wicked nice shine. Just don't use chrome cleaner on em.
So that's it. Know what you're getting for the price. After trading in my 2003 Dodge Ram Hemi our price was awesomely low on the 2008 Avenger R/T and I feel good about gas mileage again ..... AND performance. This is a great looking car and the WOW and FUN factors are back - at an affordable price.
