Dirt Devil MVP = a Pain!
Date of Review: Jan 23, 2000
I bought a Dirt Devil MVP a few years ago and it has been nothing but a pain since. It cleans fairly well but could do better. The brush roller seems to get clogged more than past vacuums I've owned. The biggest pain is when I bump it into a wall, door, couch or whatever, the belt will come off track. In order to put the belt back on, you have to take the cheap plastic cover off the brush roller with a screw driver and putting the belt back on is even a bigger pain. Its difficult to stretch over the pin and the roller has to be put in just right.
Also if you're not careful with the plastic cover when taking off and on (which is a frequent chore), it will easily crack. The hose also become frequently clogged and has to be cleaned frequently and if you don't place the hard bag cover on just so, the vacuum will lose its suction power. I have been completely unimpressed with this Dirt Devil MVP vacuum and I'll steer clear of this brand next time I purchase a vacuum.
