dino crisis
Date of Review: Feb 26, 2000
Okay, so being trapped on a remote island filled with dinosaurs isn't very original. And neither is this game, but it's still a lot of fun! I was glued to this past midnight for days until I beat it. I suppose the different outfits supplied to you and the capture of another is supposed to add to the replay value. When I finish a game like this, I never go back, no matter what prizes are in store. The "paths" feature, where you choose the next parts of the storyline, was very enjoyable. Capcom really made this Resident Evil spin-off great. In fact, it has nothing to do with RE; good thing because that whole Umbrella conspiracy didn't need dinosaurs added to their wing. The storyline for Dino Crisis isn't quite as complex, but reveals a lot along the way. When you do beat it, wait for the credits to end and you get a mission sum-up at the end, which is nice.
This game has some great stuff going for it. The 180 degree turn button isn't one of them.Sure it's helpful, but the game doesn't even require its use until you go up against the T-Rex the second time and get slaughtered because you don't know what to do.
One thing this game has better than RE is that you fight superfast dinos instead of ultra slow zombies. There should have been more types of dinos(only 6 including a slightly more difficult velociraptor)
