Product Review

Not great but not bad

by   lazzzzze ,   Jun 14, 2006

Pros:  If you don't push it and take care of it, it'll run fine

Cons:  Low storage space, battery dies fast, can't run games well or at all

The Bottom Line:  If I were you, I would just get the cheapest new one.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I was tired of sharing the family's desktop with, well, the family. I really just wanted to be able to surf the web, play music and use word on my own time. I got my C610 of ebay for about 400 bucks, which I thought, was a tad pricey. For only 100 dollars more, I could have gotten a new, bare bones, base model but 400 dollars was all I had. I have a window's 2000 which runs most windows programs that aren’t game related. All right, the good:

-7 years old but it still runs great (I have Norton, spybot and try to defrag it a lot)

- Has a USB port and supports wireless internet

- Windows 2000 doesn't use DOS and doesn't crash very often plus you can lock your computer (a plus with annoying siblings).

The bad:

-The battery only lasts about 40 min before it dies so you can't take it very far with out the ac adapter.

-The CD player kept falling out and finally my dad pick my computer up and the CD player fell out and stopped working.

-Only has 20 Gigs of storage, which is nothing by today’s standards and is really annoying especially when you have a music collection of 40Gs

-USB is only a 1.1

-You can't run high demanding programs, unless you like waiting for nothing for hours.

Overall, this computer has served me well and probably will continue to serve me well. I just would not have paid that price again.
