OK TV; Bad Company

Date of Review: Jun 27, 2006

We have had our W4201C for 6 months now and we like it. The unit itself looks good in the room -- very unobtrusive. Picture is good except for splotchy blacks in dark scenes. The reason we bought this one is that we had had a good experience with Dell in buying computers and trusted them. Our minor annoyance was that they did not send speakers and it took me three months and many, many phone calls and emails to get them. The major problem is that Dell does not support its TVs when they go haywire. If your Dell TV breaks and your warranty is up, Dell will not repair it and neither will repair shops because Dell does not make parts available to them. So, in essence, you are buying a throw-away unit here. My feeling is that Dell should tell prospective customers about this before they buy a TV but they don't. Personally, I think this is dishonest.
