Makes great apple cosmos!

I have never really liked green apple flavored candy, but I highly recommend this specific brand and flavor of apple schnapps. I discovered DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps at a bar that my friends and I frequently visit that served delicious Apple Cosmopolitans. While we always tried to get the recipe from them, it was actually my mother who finally got the bartender to tell her exactly what is in this delicious drink - and the most important component is the DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps.

I haven't yet tasted the liquer straight because I usually find flavored liquers to be too sweet and potent in flavor on their own. But when used as an additive in combination with other ingredients these apple schnapps make great drinks. Many many times I have made apple cosmopolitans at home and they are always a huge hit. Served in a martini glass with a lime, the green color makes it a very fun and elegant drink! I have been to bartending school and experimented with the proportions of the liquor at home until I have gotten it just right, so I will share with you all and hope that everybody will enjoy this unique drink!

APPLE COSMOPOLITAN
Fill a tall shaker or any tall glass with ice. Pour in the following proportions, adjusting to how many drinks you wish to make:
4 parts vodka
2 part sour apple pucker schnapps
1 part seltzer water (or ginger ale) - the bar uses ginger ale, but at home I prefer the taste with seltzer water
A splash of lime juice

Stir and use a strainer to pour the chilled drink into martini glasses; garnish with a lime.

My mother has fallen so in love with these schnapps that we now have a case of bottles at home, so I serve them anytime I have people over! On a side note, we also bought one bottle of the Pucker Watermelon Schnapps to try out, and I do not recommend this flavor. I've experimented mixing in with different things but the watermelon flavor, which is exactly like artificial watermelon in candies, is always very tart and overwhelming.
