Author's Review
First of all, my Cuisinart TOB-30BC is not a Convection oven, but is part of the 'Classic' series. I had a 'Black&Decker' convection oven for a brief period, and I was not impressed with its performance, so I returned it. I really am amazed, though, at how evenly my TOB-30BC cooks, even though it is not a convection oven.
Since I have had only one other toaster oven (and briefly the 'B&D' convection oven), I can only compare the TOB-30BC to them. The toast comes out great, and I have never had a problem with it 'burning'. Although, I will say my regular toaster does the best job, my old toaster oven never toasted like this. The 'B&D' burned toast everytime, even on the light setting.
The baking is very thorough, and contrary to some of the other reviews in here, my oven heats up in a matter of minutes. By comparison, the 'B&D' convection oven I had did not do a good job of 'evenly' cooking anything that I tried. I would have thought the convection cooking to be superior, as indicated on the box, but it did a poor job.
The only things I don't like about my oven are the fact that it is pricey, and that it does get hot on the outsides, which I managed to minorly burn myself on. Also, it would be nice to be able to fit a whole pizza in the oven if it were a little bigger.
I have only had my oven for a couple of weeks, so I can't comment on any 'fire hazards', 'malfunctions' or 'stoped working' conditions at this time, but if it does, I will certainly follow up on this review!
