Unreliable Blender

Date of Review:  May 5, 2008
Review: We purchased this blender to make fruit smoothies for our kids. The smoothies consisted of frozen strawberries, frozen peaches, cranberry juice, protein powder and fresh bananas. Our first unit started smoking and burned out in less than two weeks...

Great item...stands up to lots of use!

Date of Review:  Dec 2, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you are looking a for space-saving, but powerful and efficient appliance, this is the one to get!
Review: I bought this product at my local Costco...yes there was only one color choice, although now I believe they've changed the model from white to stainless and upped the price quite a bit. I paid $49.99 for this and gave away my old food processor...

Got it, Hate it

Date of Review:  May 2, 2007
Review: We registered for this when we got married, thinking the dual function idea was a great one. However, I wish we had just registered for two separate and much better appliances.

No need to argue over which to buy.

Date of Review:  Sep 10, 2001
The Bottom Line: We recommend the Duet to singles and couples who cook at home regularly, and to people who have limited space and budgets but want a good quality product.
Review: Pretty Andrea and I decided it was time to get a blender that met our needs, because our old Osterizer just didn't anymore. We considered replacing it with a new professional grade blender. We also considered a Food Processor. Our opinions diverged...

Excellent blender. Food Processor good, but small

Date of Review:  Aug 15, 2004
The Bottom Line: I would buy this blender/food processor again. I can't say that about any of the other blenders I've owned.
Review: If counterspace in your kitchen is an issue for you, you may want to try the Cuisinart SmartPower Duet. The blender is a treat to use; the Food Processor is good if you don't need much volume. The footprint is nice and small.

Over the...

Cuisinart 'Not-so-Smart' Duo

Date of Review:  Feb 22, 2002
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it; it won't last, and for the amount of money you'd pay for it, buy two separate products to accomplish the same goal.
Review: I have purchased two of these models, for two separate houses, and still enjoy the ease of cleaning and assembly, however, both broke in the same place: the metal round die that is attached to the base of the blender snapped right off under...

Great Idea, Poor Follow-Through

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2007
The Bottom Line: Don't bother--get full-size separate units.
Review: I got this as a gift from my mother. I needed both a food processor and a blender, and she figured that this would save space in my tiny city apartment.

It did. But it was a disappointment from the beginning. Now, at the time I got this, I...

Buyer Beware

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this item. It is expensive to repair and the plastic gears break easily.
Review: I got this as a gift about 4 years ago - so it's out of warranty. I rarely used it but when I did, it did the job. My main uses were to chop nuts or slice veggies in the food processor or to make drinks and smoothies in the blender. No hard use. I...

Smartpower Duet - total LACK of power

Date of Review:  Oct 19, 2004
The Bottom Line: I'd avoid this and buy separates that are industry standards and known to work well. Unless you Like frustration.
Review: Wow, I don;t know where to start. My wife and I received this item as a wedding gift and returned a blender and food processor (separates) thinking that this product should work fine for use. Well, my first experience using the item was making...

Careful

Date of Review:  Oct 25, 2006
Review: The whole machine is very loud, blender attachment works like a charm. Now for the food processor: less than 6 months after purchase and very light usage the food processor attachment stopped working, stripped a gear in the housing. Cuisinart would...
