Author's Review
I am English, so I need my electric kettle so that I can make tea! Nobody in the UK has a regular kettle, we all have electric ones. Anyway, my last kettle was wonderful with the exception of one small detail - the steam escaped through the handle, so that when you were pouring you would scald your hand. So, after several scaldings, because I forgot to use the pot holder, I decided that I had had enough and needed a new non-scalding kettle.
This new kettle was great. Everything I wanted - stainless steel, sleek design and most importantly non-scalding. The cordless design made it very easy to use. Lightweight and easy to pour. It had a fill level indicator on the outside so that you can see just how much water you have in the kettle.
One feature on this kettle was both a good thing and a bad thing! There was a button on the handle of the kettle that you pressed to make the lid pop open - very handy. However, as many kettles have a button on the handle that you have to push to open the spout for pouring, friends using the kettle would often - you guessed it - scald themselves as they pressed the button by mistake and steam poured out from the lid. Also, the button was very easy to just hit by mistake - resulting in a scalding!
If you are wondering why this is all written in the past tense it's because my kettle died yesterday, after only 9 months of service. So, I was on-line looking for reviews for a new kettle and thought I would share my thoughts on this one - which I will not buy again!
