Crazy Taxi for the Dreamcast!!!
The game where you are the taxi driver collecting fares from nutballs on the streets of San Francisco. Oh yeah, did we mention that the cab driver is as nutty as the customers?!?
I had ths game quite a while ago, I sold it with my DC system. Well, if that wasn't a mistake, because it's one of those games that grabs ahold of you, and keeps you forever. You might not play it for about a month or two, but abscence always makes the heart grow fonder (of playing Crazy Taxi again!)
Graphics: what can I say, they are unreal!!! I have a Sony Wega Tv (reviewed elsewhere) that makes the game just look fantastic. There is some minor slowdown when things get going too much, but it's nothing anyone can't handle!
Sound: you've got the Offspring making the soundtrack to the game, and boy, what a perfect fit. Their music is wonderfully suited to the mad dashing around the San Francisco.
Control: There's some tricks to learn to be truly successful at the game, but the nice thing is that the controls are arcade perfect, and also meaning that you need only about 3 buttons and the digital pad to control the car! Everything is arcade PERFECT!!!
Replay value: you will probably get through the game, well you can never "beat" the game, but will get bored with it, and the annoying characters voices, after about a week. You won't play it for a while, and then you'll get the hankering for it again!
All in all, for now, $19.99 as a Dreamcast Classic (I think it took about a month for that to happen) this is considered a MUST HAVE for the console. In truth, I sold my Playstation and Gran Turismo games on eBay so I could go buy a new Dreamcast and Crazy Taxi (also waiting for All American 18 Wheeler to come out)
