Author's Review
After playing through the amazing and crazy worlds of the Crash Bandicoot Series and Crash Team Racing, I was very excited to see another one adding to the collection. Starting the game and trying the games out, I found the 4 initial level games to be pretty amusing. But after about 30 minutes, I couldn't shake this feeling inside that something was missing. It just seemed like there was no real life or emotion coming out the characters this time around, and the feeling doesn't pass off to the player trying to play through these one-track events in Crash Bash.
First, the game where the players have to throw boxes at each other was just very slow and uneventful. Then the polar sumo game where you have to push other players off the icerink was fun at first. Then I realized I was being zapped by lightning and having weights fall on me for mysterious reasons. Yes, I know you're supposed to get the lightning and pass off the weights, I just haven't figured out how yet. And, the hockey game is pretty fun. But, I played two player and I found out you get pushed to the top of the screen where the lower player has immense advantage due to playing perspective. Lastly, I played the jumping pogo game (you know kind of like that game with black and white squares and have to finish with most squares at the end?). Also pretty fun and interesting at first, but again I just get tired after about 15 minutes or so.
Well, I haven't been bothered enough to open new levels yet, so I can only base my judgement on the first few games. But isn't a game supposed to grab your attention and get you to want to play more?
