An Excellent Product

The Bottom Line: If you need a good detector than this is it - You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars for adequate warning
I bought this detector as a step up from an older one I had for many years. The older one was a gift that happened to be a cobra so I figured I would stay with the same brand. I have read and heard some bad things about cobra but this detector is VERY good. It has detected with plenty of warning for me many police cars and speed traps both in city and highway environments.
I'm not a lead-footed speeder but occasionally I do go over the limit. However, this detector has saved me several times since I bought it, and now I'm planning on staying with this model and only buying another one if I lose this one.
City driving has the effect of false alerts on the detector, but that will happen with any radar detector nowadays due to the X band being so common in urban areas. I have noticed that in city areas an alert will go off almost 20 seconds before I can see the police car or speed trap -- this can initially give the effect of a false alert so care must be taken to always react when a warning is given. This detector will tell you if it is the X band which is common for false alerts or if it is detecting one of the more common K, KA, or Laser bands.
