Good way to prepare for the Anatomy boards

Date of Review:  Dec 18, 1999
Review: As you've either already learned or are about to find out, anatomy is now "clinically oriented". That means, for exam purposes, it's no longer sufficient to know that the thyrocervical trunk has 4 branches (or whatever) and that the pancreas "gives...

Good Reference Text, Bad For Class

Date of Review:  Jan 20, 2001
The Bottom Line: Too detailed to be a good primary text for an anatomy course, but still useful as a reference text.
Review: Like every other med student in the world, I bought WAY too many books when I first started med school. For anatomy I purchased: Clinically Oriented Anatomy ("Big Moore"), Esential Clinical Anatomy ("Little Moore"), and every atlas known to man plus...

Moore gets more and more useful the more you learn!

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2000
Review: This was the first anatomy book I ever bought and I still love it! It's got EVERYTHING - the right amount of detail, clearly written, with super diagrams and pictures that make all that learning just a bit easier.
It's the pictures and diagrams...

Given the time, a good text

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: A long-winded but through approach to anatomy. It's poor pictures sometimes need supplementing but the tables almost make up for this fact.
Review: Although I don?t have much experience when it comes to other texts, I found Moore?s to be a good starting point for studying.
While the text is long and perhaps excessive, I found that if I read it and paid attention enough to understand it, I...

Better than Grant's Atlas

Date of Review:  Jan 29, 2000
Review: If you're just looking for an atlas for anatomy then go with Netter. But if you're looking for an actual anatomy text book, this is a pretty good choice. The text is well-written and fairly concise and clinically relevant excerpts are highlighted in...

great for your clerkships

Date of Review:  Jan 29, 2000
Review: You thought thinking about anatomy was over after the step 1 boards. Nope. I've been asked about the old anatomy knowledge pretty much everywhere, in medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and even in rehabilitation medicine! Everybody's favorite phrase,...
