Great on gas, retro look, big on the inside!
Pros:
Great to park, fantastic highway mileage 38 MPG!
Cons:
Get a manual - cheaper, better on gas, more fun to drive!
The Bottom Line:
This is a great small family car - you don't need a minivan if you only have one or two children. Spacious, comfortable and fun!

Author's Review
I have heard people describe this car as a gas guzzling mini-van, which is quite frankly ridiculous as it is obviously neither of these things.
My car:
2006 PT Cruiser (Manual)
I chose this car based on the stated highway mileage, which was around 30, and the fact that it was a manual car. Manual cars are much more fun to drive AND they get better gas mileage generally, depending on how you drive the car of course. Basically, if you drive more slowly, brake gently and don't accelerate too fast, this baby runs on air!
Interior
It has a surprisingly spacious interior with comfortable seats, head rests, drink holders in front and back, a good size middle console to hold CD's etc between the front 2 seats and a great big steering wheel and huge retro style dials that are easy to read. Also, interior-wise it has matching color to the exterior, which gives it a little bit more originality.
Exterior
I love the retro look to this car, which is possibly why it appeals to a lot of older people, but I am only in my 30's, so the appeal is a lot more widespread than some would have you believe. The paint finish is superb, very shiny, very easy to maintain that shine and the windows have a nice tint to keep out some of the sunlight.
Rear window view is excellent for reversing, which is something many other cars lack, and the vision in this car is overall outstanding.
Bonus features
When you fold down the seats completely you can get an amazing amount of stuff in there - I had a Christmas tree in there in December 2005 as we got the car right about then.
It also has all the usual features: air-conditioning, CD player, a regular clock (the dial kind!), anchors for child seats.
Driveability
We have taken this car on some pretty long road trips, 500 miles or more, and it has not only proved to be comfortable and durable, it has also managed to get some excellent highway gas mileage.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes a car with a bit more personality than the average small car out there on the market!
