THE BEST SEBRING CONVERTIBLE YET

Pros: styling, power and total experience

Cons: very heavy doors and trunk lid - plastic interior

The Bottom Line: You cannot go wrong for the money - unless you choose the regular entry level model and get the 4 cylinder.

I had a 2005 Sebring Touring convertible with an anemic engine so this time I decided to buy the 2008 Sebring Convertible Limited. The Limited has the large V-6 engine and 6 speed automatic transmission. Now this large and heavy car finally has some real power with the ability to get out of harm's way quick.

The new 2008 Sebring Convertible is really a sharp looking car, very swoopy and with the standard 18" wheels on the Limited, has lost that "roller skate on wheels" look. The leather interior on the Limited looks rich and inviting. The only downside is that everything else is made of plastic.

It is important to realize that this is not a Bimmer - it is a nice boulevard car. With the large engine, the 6 speed automatic, the optional electronic handling package, and variable wheel control, this is now an incredible car for the money.

I recommend the 2008 Sebring Limited Convertible to anyone who wants just a great fun experience. Now with the top down there is a cover over it so it looks like a more expensive convertible. I have a relatively rare Limited soft top version, because I am a purist and a hardtop is not needed here in Florida. However, if you live in the Northeast with the nasty winters, you can have the folding hardtop which offers the best of all worlds.
