Probably the Worst Car Ever Made

Date of Review:  Nov 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: A great car if you don't like big Cadillacs.
Review: Those are the exact words my Dad used after my test drive of the Chevy HHR. He elaborated by saying it was too small, not comfortable, poorly laid out controls and just plain ugly.

My response - I bought it.

HHR: More Fun To Look At Than To Drive, But A Decent Compact Wagon.

Date of Review:  Nov 22, 2005
The Bottom Line: Like the PT Cruiser, the HHR is a likeable small wagon competing with several other likeable small wagons. If you love the looks, go for it. Otherwise, shop around.
Review: My Experience

Imagine, for a minute, that you're an automobile manufacturer who's fallen on hard times. Small cars are gaining market share, Chrysler's PT Cruiser has become a huge hit, and now you're hurting for a "cool" compact wagon of...

Consider it for your needs not just styling.

Date of Review:  Nov 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: Well worth consideration. Meets the needs and budget of most small families.
Review: The HHR is a bit taller than most compact wagons, gets far better mileage than small SUVs.

I've never been a speed daemon or fashion queen. So neither g-forces nor styling are all that important to me. We use our vehicles as transportation...

HHR is a great ride

Date of Review:  Jan 1, 2006
Review: I test drove both HHR with LT 2 pack and PT Cruiser Route 66 edition and the Chevy wins hands down. As I drove the Chrysler I felt that it was ready to fall apart as horn button you can push and it does not always worked and regardless how many...

A blast into the past

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: I would choose an HHR again. It meets all of my realistic expectations (for a second car)
Review: I have had the HHR LT1 for about a month and, as an avid car enthusiast I found the HHR quite a nice vehicle. I must premise all of my opinions with the fact that this was purchased as a 'business' vehicle and that I have a 2001 Corvette sitting in...

Style, sass and great on gas

Date of Review:  Oct 18, 2005
The Bottom Line: A very good value, even at full sticker. Avoid the 2.2 liter. The 2.4 liter is the only way to fly. This little bruiser outshines the competition.
Review: My HHR (2LT package - 2.4 liter, sport suspension, automatic, 17-inch wheels & tires) is surprisingly gutsy for an in-line four. I'm delighted with the performance from the 172 HP engine. This isn't my Jag or V-8 Ford Explorer, but the HHR gets up...

When it comes to style, what's old is new

Date of Review:  Mar 16, 2007
Review: When it comes to style, what's old is new. The Chevy HHR has a retro look with modern conveniences. I purchased a HHR last August when my previous car failed it's mandatory smog test. With increases in the cost of fuel I was looking for a sport...

2006 Chevy HHR

Date of Review:  May 31, 2007
The Bottom Line: This vehicle is definitely worth it's money. Looks great too.
Review: I just traded my 2006 Chevrolet HHR in for a bigger 2004 GMC Yukon, because i needed more space for my growing family, but I believe that one year spent with this car, qualifies me to write a fairly complete review on it.
I had this car for a...

Seriously disappointing!

Date of Review:  Aug 27, 2006
The Bottom Line: Shop around. Great first car, but not for the long haul.
Review: I've owned and driven 12 cars in my life. Obviously I'm no teenager, but I'm not in the big Buick category yet, either. Perhaps it's that I've owned and loved 2 classic Jeep Cherokees (the old square kind), but I find I'm totally underwhelmed by my...

Surprisingly smooth and quiet

Date of Review:  Oct 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: Strong buy recommendation. The HHR is a winning combination of style, efficiency and value.
Review: The Chevy HHR LT2 with the new 2.4 liter Ecotech variable valve timing engine is surprisingly smooth and quiet for a four cylinder small car. Essentially the wagon version of the Cobalt, the HHR benefits from a proven and popular platform, but adds...
