Any reason to buy this PT Cruiser knock-off?

Date of Review:  Aug 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: Largely a me-too product that breaks no new ground, the HHR's main advantage over the PT Cruiser is a smoother, quieter ride.
Review: My wife isn't much of a car person, but the especially cute ones nevertheless capture her attention. She wanted VW New Beetle when they first came out, but she also wanted to start a family. So functionality, or a lack of the same, nixed the VW...

Our 2006 HHR

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2006
Review: I own 2006 HHR LT fully equiped. I am really unhapply with my car. Its sluggish on aceleration. Its turn radius is sub par. It has had the check engine light on twice. And has gonein repair for the sunroof passenger window and two times for the...

Stylish Retro-Missed Opportunity

Date of Review:  Jul 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: Only recommended for teenagers looking to impress or short-drive delivery persons.
Review: The title says it all for this new addition to the Chevy lineup for 2005-2006. Even though this machine obviously copies the Chrysler PT Cruiser, which has been a big success, the HHR doesn't quite make it especially inside the cabin.

Review: I've had mine for over 1.5 years and I can say it has been nothing but a great car. Excellent mileage (30 highway)(25 intown). Ride is smooth and comfortable. Good for a weeks travel with the little one in the back, but larger families will be...

HHR - A better PT Cruiser?

Date of Review:  Oct 23, 2005
The Bottom Line: The HHR has a lot of potential, unfortunately GM still has a long way to go with this one..
Review: The PT Cruiser, especially in GT trim, is one of my favorite utility wagons on the road. The PT GT is quick, good looking, offers good utility, and a fair price tag. That said, the all-new Chevrolet HHR (High Heritage Roof) retro wagon didn t...

It drives normal and it looks acceptable

Date of Review:  Nov 7, 2005
Review: It drives normal and it looks acceptable. The interior is uncomfortable and difficult to operate. Everything seems to be in all the wrong places. Like the map lights located in the bottom of the rearview mirror. They don t reflect to the seating...

How good is the PT Cruiser Wannabe?

Date of Review:  May 9, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you like the PT Cruiser but have Chevy brand loyalty, your vehicle has arrived.
Review: INTRODUCTION AND INTERIOR

I test drove the 2006 Chevrolet HHR. HHR stands for Heritage High Roof, and is modeled after the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban. To view it a more callous and cynical way, it's GM's painfully obvious attempt to cash in...

A Traveling Torture

Date of Review:  Oct 9, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this vehicle. If it looks cheap, it is probably cheaply made.
Review: We had the misfortune of renting this car through a major rental car company to drive on a recent business trip. The car we requested wasn't available, and the rental car company put us into this boxy misconception. I've never been a fan of the PT...

Works for Me

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2007
Review: Growing up in the '50s and '60s I lived for cars. Now in my 60's I fancy the retros. Each retro starting with the PT Cruiser was my favorite. The Mini Cooper really took my fancy. I now travel and have a reason for economy. Along comes the HHR...
