1986 S-10 Blazer... what a truck!
Pros:
Good looking truck, a REAL SUV/Truck, unlike these whimpy car-based SUVs of today.
Cons:
The 2.8L V6 is neither powerful nor durable. Rust.
The Bottom Line:
If you're looking for a good, old, small/medium SUV, this is your ticket.

Ahh it was my last vehicle that I had in high school and the first vehicle that I took to college. My 86 Chevy Blazer S-10 was truly an awesome truck. And that's what it was, a real (but small) truck, not a car-based whimpmobile like the new car-based SUVs that seem to be replacing real SUVs like the Blazer. Hell, I don't even think the new TrailBlazer nor the last Blazer made are as attractive as this truck. My Blazer rode the way an SUV is supposed to ride - rugged, like a truck, but still nice enough that I could stand driving it every day. My only beef with this truck was that its 2.8L V6 had very little power and was not durable. These engines were known for blowing if pushed too hard, so drive reasonably gentile. I had a lot of memories in my 86 Blazer, and I'd love to have another one as a project vehicle some day. Of course, the new models of the Blazer and TrailBlazer are much better built than my 86, but they lack the rugged edge and small-truck ride that my 86 Blazer had. If you make an SUV too car like, then why not just drive a car? An SUV should be rugged!!! The 86 S-10 Blazer had an amazingly large interior in both the front and back seats, in fact, more room than its 4-door version that came out in the early 90's before the major redesign in 1995.
