G5 and 420EX review: G5 not worth $450.

Date of Review:  Mar 8, 2004
The Bottom Line: When lighting conditions are good, takes great pictures. When they're not, you'll have to get out the 35mm film camera.
Review: To pre-qualify myself just so you understand that this isn't just a review generated from G5 user error, I'd rate myself technically at a high intermediate to advanced level. Although I have been shooting 35mm film on my Canon 35mm SLR for only...

You Just Can't Keep a Good Thing Down

Date of Review:  Jul 12, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you want quality professional images with the ease of use of a consumer camera, then this is your ticket. The competition has once again been one-upped!
Review: My friend got a G1 on my recommendation and then I got a G2 after playing with his G1. I used it for almost two years and was pretty happy with it. There were a few annoying problems that nagged me enough to consider another manufacture. So, I...

Great Camera

Date of Review:  Jun 13, 2004
Review: My first digital camera and I am really pleased. The G5 is very easy to use and takes great photographs. Full manual options if required. Excellent user guide. Remote control is a bonus, so is RAW mode, white balance and compact flash to store...

Gets the Big Things Right

Date of Review:  Dec 30, 2003
The Bottom Line: Solid combination of great pictures, wide range of user-friendly features, long battery life and reasonably compact size.
Review: Canon's latest Powershot entry, the G5, is marginally improved from their previous G3--mainly by upping the megapixel count from 4 to 5. I looked at comparably priced Olympus, Sony and Nikon before settling on the G5. Having taken thousands of pics...

Very Solid Camera

Date of Review:  Aug 7, 2005
Review: I owned the 4 MP G4 before this camera and have been very pleased with both products. I sold my G4 to a friend and upgraded to the G5. The camera takes awesome pictures which I print at home using a Canon Pixma IP8500. I would highly recommend this...

Date of Review:  Jun 3, 2004
Review: As a novice photographer I was looking for a camera that takes great pictures and gives me lots of features that I may not choose to use all the time. The I started out with an S-50 but due to quality issues (I got 2 lemons in a row) I ended up with...

a nice camera for scene

Date of Review:  Apr 19, 2006
Review: I have bought the Canon G5 for 2 years. It is still in good condition and can deal with the sightseeing and natural scene. But the focus speed is not fast enough which may unreasonable for the flying birds.

Great For Action Shots! Nice Camera.

Date of Review:  Jan 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: A solid, well made, easy to operate and functional camera, but not the most portable.
Review: I received this camera as a gift from my husband. We also purchased the larger memory card.

This camera takes some of the best action shots I have ever seen!

I do sheep herding with my dog and have gotten some professional...

King of the 5 megapixel hill.

Date of Review:  Jul 11, 2003
The Bottom Line: A great intermediate/advanced camera that will fulfill all of your photo needs. Built on a proven design with many upgrades, canon fans will not be dissapointed.
Review: Ever since I went looking for a family camera (I picked the s230) I found many people in the hospital that I work with that are into cameras. Because I've become somewhat knowledgeable about camera's, I often am given the opportunity to "try out"...
