Great improvement from the Elura 90

Pros: Sharp image, good audio, great in low level lighting, size,built-in lens cap

Cons: No firewire to USB cable to make transferring video to your PC easier.

One of the complaints frequently lodged against Canon (and all mini dv camcorder) has been poor performance in low level lighting. My brother has the Elura 90 and this was true of that product. Love level lighting produced a grainy image. The Elura 100 has performed extremely well for me with low level lighting.

Other improvements on this model include the built-in lens cap, external button for lighting, easy to use joystick (but I have small hands - might be tough for guys with big hands), and the overall size is much smaller.

I am thrilled with this product. I used it today with the Canon telephoto lens to record my brother preaching a sermon at church in dismal lighting and at a decent distance. We were very pleased with the results. Unexpectedly, we found the audio quality fairly good considering the distance.

I have also successfully used this equipment as a web-cam with MSN Messenger 7.5

I would highly recommend this product to the average consumer.
