Awesome Camera

Date of Review:  Nov 1, 2005
Review: Very good camera. Great for those new to the digital world as it is easy to use and will grow with you as you learn more about the format.

Great photo's!

Get some rechargeable batteries! Goes through regular batteries like a kid...

Canon PowerShot S1 IS

Date of Review:  Jan 12, 2006
Review: I was looking for a good camera. I wanted something that I could capture some action and slow shots with, and something that had a decent zoom. I have loved it ever since I bought it. It is a mid-sized camera, not one you can just stick in your...

great little camera

Date of Review:  Dec 29, 2007
The Bottom Line: Again this is one of these products asking the ultimate question. Would I buy this camera again. Answer is yes.
Review: I mentioned in a previous post that I bought the Kodak DX4530 about 4 years ago, also a great little camera for every day point and shoot. I needed something a little faster and bought the CANON S5 IS. The old Kodak gave me 2 seconds between shots...

An "OK" camera, but won't recommend it.

Date of Review:  Nov 5, 2004
Review: I did alot of research before buying a camera, and this just didn't cut it. It is a neat little camera, but has very very slow response time. What you THINK you are taking a pic of you are NOT. You get about a 2 second delay, and then the moment is...

I love this camera!

Date of Review:  Jan 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is a great camera with a lot of functionality for the price.
Review: Other people have described the features of this camera so I'll just blab on a little about why I love it so much.

The Canon S1 IS is the fourth digital camera I have owned. And the best. I was so happy with my Sony cameras, I never...

A great camera for certain uses

Date of Review:  Apr 23, 2005
The Bottom Line: A great camera for outdoor photographers; not the best for point and shoot beginners who could use something cheaper and simpler.
Review: This camera is great for anyone who really wants a 10x zoom for outdoor photos such as sports and wildlife. It can also function well as an outdoor landscape or even portrait camera. The best feature is the image stabilization for distance photos...

Best I've had so far!

Date of Review:  Nov 30, 2007
The Bottom Line: Great camera for those who want much more than a snap and shoot can offer without breaking the bank.
Review: We purchased this camera in August 2007. I do digital design work and my husband and I enjoy photography as a hobby, especially to accompany our hikes. The Powershot S5 IS has met and exceeded our needs so far.

S5 IS makes a great mega zoom camera - many features

Date of Review:  Dec 18, 2007
The Bottom Line: Great camera, tons of features, stills and movies. Full auto, but plenty of creative or manual settings. Take awesome indoor photos by adding Speedlite 430EX flash!
Review: Overview

The Canon S5 IS digital camera is an 8-megapixel 12X "super zoom" camera with an SLR-like body, and is the successor to the S3 IS, sharing the same lens and many similar functions. The S5 IS uses Canon's new DIGIC III processor. A...
