Good Camera

Date of Review:  May 28, 2008
The Bottom Line: Nice Camera. You wont' be disappointed.
Review: I am a previous owner of the Canon Powershot S2 and wanted to upgrade. For some silly reason, I went and bought the Olympus 560-UZ because it had a more powerful zoom. Not impressed with the poor picture quality, I sold that camera and went and...

Canon Powershot S5 IS - Compact, light, and versatile

Date of Review:  Oct 23, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you want a camera to carry around for fast shots with both zoom and macro, this is the one for you. If you want enlargements, get an SLR.
Review: I bought the Canon Powershot S5 IS in October 2007 to use on a trip to New England. Here are some of the shots taken on that trip: http://www.grandmemories.com/NE2007

The photos show use of the zoom, the macro, and other "normal"...

Great camera all around

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2008
The Bottom Line: I definitely recommend it - it's a great "bridge" camera.

I m 21 years old, and in the seven years of my life so far that I have been a digital user, I have owned several cameras. My first was a $400 Sony Mavica...

Canon S1 IS.... Almost perfect, but no cigar.

Date of Review:  Jun 27, 2004
The Bottom Line: Very nice camera for a very nice price. Lots of good features and you can't beat the 10x IS zoom.
Review: I have owned 4 digital cameras, from the point and shoot to the Canon D60 DSLR. I am looking for that perfect camera - light weight and near pocket size, long zoom, preferably stabilized, automatic as well as a full range of manual features, focuses...

Great for travel

Date of Review:  Jun 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: This camera is for someone who is getting more serious about their photography.
Review: I started traveling a lot for work and I decided that I would use these opportunities to do some hard core tourism on the side. I already have the Canon A60, but I was looking for more megapixels and a bigger zoom. I decided to go with the S1 IS...

Easy to use - not an SLR but Close

Date of Review:  Jan 20, 2008
The Bottom Line: A great family camera that's easy to use.
Review: We wanted to replace the SONY CyberShot 5 MP camera as my wife wasn't happy with the aperture speed and focusing. I looked at several cameras, and didn't want to have her using the old SLR with nothing but the viewfinder to frame her shots - our...

I'm officially in love with this camera.

Date of Review:  Sep 15, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you want an SLR, but cannot justify or afford one, this will keep you happy. Lots of capability for someone wanting to get creative. (Or if you like buttons!)
Review: I bought this as a replacement for another camera with which I was unhappy with the image quality. I was also looking at the S3 IS in addition to this one. The S3 was only $50 more than the one I was returning, at $300, while the S5 was $400. I went...
