Product Review

Disappointing low-light sensitivity

by   picusaurio ,   Nov 15, 2006

Pros:  Small, lightweight, sturdy

Cons:  Very bad light sensitivity, sepia-like tone, dull colors

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought a canon digital videocam because I have owned the canon A70 digicam, and wanted to have video memories of my newborn. But when it comes to video, optura 400 has the worst low-light footages I have ever seen (even since the flour-sensor era). Even with good light its colors are dull and whashed-out. It tends to generate sepia-like tones to everything you film.
Even my old Panasonic VHS camera has much better picture quality in low-light conditions.
Overall good features, but still photos are nothing close to those taken with canon digital still cameras with 2MP.
Nothing impressive, and not cheap as well.
