Pros: USM motor, Canon EF, decent focal lenght.
Cons: Not full time manual focus, slow focusing
The Bottom Line: If you've already got the 17-55 you really don't need this, spend your money on some primes or a higher focal length zoom that starts around 50mm.

Review: I bought this lens because I wanted slightly more high end zoom than what is offered on the 17-55 USM EF/S that came with my Rebel. Most film shooters use a 50mm lens for their all around near object lens but sometimes this is too much magnification...

Pros: fast accurate focusing, light weight
Cons: no lens hood included
The Bottom Line: A nice general purpose 'prime' lens for today's lighter weight autofocus cameras

Review: I purchased this lens mainly because i needed a 300mm lens for wildlife shots. I already had the 28-135mm IS lens, and liked the stabilizing feature, but the price of the 75-300mm IS lens was almost $500.00, which i did not want to spend at the...

Review: In June 2003, I got my first SLR camera-a Canon EOS Elan 7E. With it came a Canon 28-90mm f/4-5.6 USM II lens. Due to its USM motor, I thought it would be the Holy Grail of kit lenses.
It turns out it wasn't. Of the hundreds of... |
