To Infinity and Way Beyond!

I've always enjoyed Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear, so I thought I'd give this movie a shot. Wow. I was impressed. The film is done in traditional animation, not the computer animation we're used to seeing in the other Toy Story movies. But this doesn't take away the film itself.

The story follows Buzz Lightyear as he and a group of rookie Space Rangers- Booster, XR, and Mira Nova- try to stop the sinister Evil Emperor Zurg from using the Uni-Mind (a device that allows a group of aliens known as the Little Green Men to think and feel as one) to enslave all free worlds in the Galactic Alliance. The plot is exciting and very well done. The large, bumbling alien Booster, the wisecracking robot XR, and even Zurg provide some comic relief throughout. The story has an important lesson served on the side, too. Buzz's adventures teach the values of friendship, courageousness, and understanding. The movie also promotes the action of standing up for what's right.

Although different from Toy Story and Toy Story 2, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is #1 in its own league. It's definitely one of the best animated films I've seen in a long time. I'd recommend this video to both kids and adults- it's a great family movie!
