Baby Sits Tall and Happy in the Bumbo

The Bumbo baby seat is the perfect baby shower gift and a must for all new moms! It looks strange, and the name is even stranger, but this seat provides infants as young as 3 months a chance to sit tall and see their world at a different angle. It is recommended for children old enough to hold up their heads. We tried it with my son at 3 months old, and he did not like it, but when we tried at 4 months old, he loved it. Some of the many uses we found for it included reading, watching movies, playing with puppets or other stuffed animals, and eating. We did not buy a high chair until he was eating on his own. We just put the Bumbo on the table and were able to feed him at a comfortable level for us. We also took the Bumbo to restaurants and sat him on the table, rather than make him lay in the carrier while we ate. It was cleaner than the high chairs provided at the restaurant, and he seemed more engaged and excited about being able to see all around him. Another great use for the Bumbo was to place it on a level spot outside in the Spring and let him enjoy the outdoors. He would sit and watch while my husband and I took care of the flowerbed or other outdoor chores.

Some might have seen that the Bumbo seat was recently recalled. In light of all recalls, this might make some be cautious, but this recall was due to nothing but stupidity of parents. Parents who left their child sitting in it on a table and walk away were shocked to find their child injured when the child crawled out. The recall was just to add a warning label to the seat so warn parents not to leave their child alone in it. Common sense for most, but I’m sure their legal department insisted to provide themselves from the idiots of the world.
