Author's Review
I enjoy Brother products. I have a typewriter from this company that is almost twenty years old and still works perfectly.
I have used other printers before--Lexmark, Hewlett-Packard and Canon--but I have not enjoyed them as much as I enjoy this multi-function printer.
I can scan, copy, fax and print without issue. I have an old computer that works with Windows Millennium Edition. Other printers would not work with Windows Millennium Edition, but this one would.
I enjoyed it until the first time the ink ran out. The downfall of this machine is that if one color runs out, you cannot use the entire machine. You cannot scan, copy or use any of its features.
When using my previous printers, even if I had no colored ink, I still could use the machine with the black ink. Not so with this machine.
Also this machine goes through the cleaning process frequently, using up the ink. I hadn't printed anything for awhile after I received the "ink near empty" message and still the ink depleted.
This machine is a joy for a reasonable price if you have money to waste on ink all the time.
Even with this problem, I would still recommend it to my friends because it is the best printer I have ever had.
