Braun washable shaver #5614

When I was shopping around for an electric shaver, I wanted one that had one straight head across and not the type with the three separate circular shavers. I have a very sensitive face, I have used the type with the three circular shaver set up and it just seemed like I had to massage my face and move it around a lot more causing irritation.
The first time I used the Braun 5614 shaver I noticed that the unit itself fit very comfortably in my hand. The swivel head aloud me to move the unit fewer times over the same area (less irritation) and shaved very close to the skin. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review I have very sensitive skin and could only shave about every other day with a normal blade shaver, and still had pain involved. With the Braun shaver I could finally shave everyday with no pain or discomfort and get a close shave that would last the entire day with minimal growth at night. The swivel head feature that the Braun provides makes it very comfortable for the shaver to glide and cut.
I found that the shaver performs a lot better when you move at an even pace rather than fast back and forth or circular movements.
Clean up with this unit is very easy. The unit is washable under water, however I do not do this everyday only because I cant imagine any electrical unit being totally water proof and I do not want the unit to rust or leak from extensive washes. I wash under water about every other or every couple days. The shaver comes with appliance oil which is recommended after washing to oil it. The brush provided cleans the shaver quite well, however the swivel head feature allows some hair to get down into the unit and can be a little tricky to get out but with some patience it can be cleaned. The Braun shaver comes with a hard cover case to store the unit in and a carrying case for travel which can fit the power cord, unit and appliance oil in the bottom for convenience. The battery life of this unit is very impressive. I shave just about everyday, it takes me about five to ten minutes to shave with this unit. I found that with one full charge on the battery I can shave about ten times which includes the unit running for cleaning purposes. I found this to be impressive considering my old shaver had to consistently be charged it seemed and hardly held a charge more than 5 or 6 shaves.
I have found this shaver to be extremely satisfying and very pleasant to use. The only thing I personally can say that would be considered negative about the shaver would be the cleaning and the few places that require a few extra seconds of attention. For a shaver that performs the way it does and the quality of the results it gives, it is an injustice to even mention this type of complaint. This shaver is worth every penny and then some.
