Good sound but problems with video enhancer

Date of Review: Jan 3, 2009

Love the basic system. The sound is great. The problem seems to be the video portion that plays DVD's. When I bought the system it was also for use with HDTV, which I purchased a few months later. I found that the system isn't compatible with all HDTV systems. When I use an HD cable I get sound but no picture. When I called customer support they took me through about an hour of troubleshooting. Nothing seemed to work. After giving up on the HD cables they had me connect DVI cables. That finally worked. I was then informed that not all HD systems will work with the lifestyle 48 and the best they could do was to use DVI cables. I am not at all satisfied by this since the picture is not as good as it is with an HD cable. I feel in this case, the video enhancer is actually a de-hancer. If I bypass the Video Enhancer it works great, but limits what can be coonected to the system. I feel I bought a 4,000 piece of junk
