The perfect match for the Bosch Washer

I bought the Bosch 500 plus series Nexxt Gas Dryer (WTMC5521UC)along with the Bosch 500 plus series washer (WFMC5301UC) almost 2 months ago. The set was replacing a 15 year old Kenmore washer/dryer that we had. Honestly, once we decided on the washing machine we wanted (see that review)deciding on the Bosch dryer was easy. It is the match for the washer.

Beside the fact that it matches here's what I like about it. It is quiet. It has a 67 dB silence rating - the quietest dryer in the US. Our laundry room is right next to our family room, so quietness was an important factor. When we first got the dryer/washer, I found myself checking to see if they were still running because they are so quiet.

It has a stainless steel drum so it won't get scratched up like the inside of my old dryer.

The timer lets you know how long the dryer will run.
There is an ECOsensor that lets the dryer know when the clothes are dry - so it doesn't run for an extended period of time. For instance - when I'm drying a load of towels on the Regular/Cotton setting and set the dryer to "very dry" the timer reads 35 minutes. At first I didn't believe that a load of 5 large bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 bath mats & 1 washcloth could be dry in 35 minutes but it was. Frequently the dryer takes LESS time than what the timer originally displayed because of the Ecosensor. Bed sheets, for instance, are dried very quickly. By not running for extra time I am using less gas and less electricity which has lowered my bills.

The signal that tells you the clothes are dry, beeps 3 times and repeats frequently which can get annoying if you can't get to the dryer right away. You can, however, turn the signal off.

The drum is huge - 6.7 cu.ft. I can fit so much more in this dryer than my old one and still the clothes are dry. So, again, I'm running the dryer less and lowering my energy bills.

There are many drying settings (11 Tailored drying programs). Other than the Regular Cotton and Permanant Press settings there are Delicates, Air Fluff (no heat) and Time dry settings as well. This dryer has WrinkleBlock as well - so if you don't empty it right away, the drum continues to spin periodically so the clothes don't get wrinkled.
The 500 plus dryer came with a drying rack so I can dry sweaters or canvas sneakers without ruining them.

We purchased the 15 inch pedestals ($220) for the dryer & washer which raises them to a perfect height for loading and unloading. I thought this was necessary because the dryer in particular is very deep. By raising it up, it is easy to reach into the dryer/washer and get the clothes out. (Without the pedestals, I think all front loaders are too low to the ground.)

I am so glad that I did my research (thank you Epinions) and went with the Bosch. This was a major purchase and I after having my old machines for 15 years (they saw us through 3 kids and tons of laundry!!!) I was looking for that same type of reliability. The other systems we considered (LG, Kenmore, Whirlpool) just didn't seem to have that reliablity based on what I read. Bosch is well known for their reliability and has been making these types of washing systems for a long time.

At first, I have to admit, I liked the LOOK of the LG better (but the reviews for them were very iffy), after having this Bosch pair for 2 months - I really like the look. They are modern looking but not intimidating with the technology. They make doing laundry fun...which is not something I'd normally say. I highly recommend this washer & dryer pair.
