Author's Review
When our dishwasher died, the timing could not have been worse. Money was tight, and I just knew I would wind up with some horrid second hand appliance. I must have done something right, because karma was kind to me. My husband found a "used" Bosch SRV53C03 and learned when it was delivered it had been dropped and the side had a small dent. The owner called and screamed, and they delivered a new unit to him. They also left the dented unit behind! He didn't want it, he put an ad in the paper, and he let it go for $100. Yup, we got our new unit, with a small dent that my husband removed at home, for $100! I didn't know how great a deal we had gotten until I learned my friend has the same unit, and it cost her over $900.
This is a built in unit, and it is so quiet that sometimes I have to check to see if it is operating. It took a while to get used to the recessed buttons that must be selected before the unit is started. I like that you can wash wine glasses in the top rack. I don't like the utensil holder, since several of my design pieces are too wide to fit in it.
It does a great job of washing and drying glasses, flatware and dinnerware. I have always used Cascade and JetDry when doing a load, and I have no spots on whatever's been cleaned. I do pots and pans by hand, so I don't know how well it cleans them.
My Bosch unit has never given us a problem, and my friend's unit has never given her a problem.
