Horrid customer service - Beware if you don't plan to die in your house!

One of these Bosch dishwashers was installed in our apartment when we moved in (NYC area). We bought the apartment, in part, due to the loveliness of the kitchen, including the appliances. A few months after we moved in, the recessed On/Off switch stopped working. I called Bosch knowing that the previous owners had purchased the extended warranty.

The Bosch service associate on the phone informed me that 'we do not cover anyone other than the primary purchaser' regardless of whether the defect is in design or manufacture or use. Amazing! Talk about not standing behind your products.

It's understandable for lifetime warranties not to be transferable, but 5 year extend warranties? And in the 2nd year not to stand by your product! This is absurd.

I was also told on the phone to 'read the fine print.'

So I wrote an email to complain. Thank you sir, have a nice Holiday - was all I got back.

Remember that this is a $1,000 dishwasher. I won't buy one again - worked great. And I'm doing what I can to share the news. Go ahead and buy one if you want to have it forever and don't see moving any time soon. But beware if you might have to move, that warranty isn't good after you sell the machine!!!!
