So Far So Good

I purchased this Bosch dishwasher SHE4AM16UC at Lowe's about 1 week ago. They have the largest selection of dishwashers on hand. I wanted to take it home the day I bought it.

My most outstanding impression is that this dishwasher cleans well. I don't remember my plates looking so shiny

I used the included finish 3-in-one tab on the first load. I had a huge pile of dirty dishes waiting that had accumulated after my former dishwasher failed.

The dishwasher was filled to capacity, and much of the food was dried on. I ran the cycle on Regular Wash and after 2 hours, the control panel showed "Clean."

The dishes looked fine, but unfortunately the tablet was not all dissolved. I was undaunted, as my former dishwashers also had this problem. I have hard community well water.

I set the dishwasher to "Quick Wash" with the detergent door open, and after 30 minutes the tablet was gone and the dishes were clean and shiny.

This dishwasher has a light that blinks if the rinse aid dispenser is empty. I am still experimenting with the right amount of rinse aid and detergent for my water hardness. There are 4 settings for rinse aid: none, low, medium, and high. The factory setting is medium.

I may just use a citric acid product along with the detergent.

This dishwasher is quiet and efficient. The only sounds are that of water splashing. One can easily have a conversation near the dishwasher.

I have to get used to a different way to load dishes as the racks are set up completely differently from my other dishwashers.

I would have liked to have an extra foldable shelf on the top rack. That is included on some other Bosch models. I actually took the shelf off my old Whirlpool and snapped it into this one and it fit (not perfectly) and works well.
