Author's Review
I bought this dishwasher in January 2008 as my old one finally broke down after about 15 years of flawless operation. I decided to go with european brand because I come from Europe and I know that many in my family and friend use bosch products. So Bosch was a very respectable brand for me. The dishwasher cost me about 1200 dollars and installation was $180. It worked fine for about a month - very quiet, washed the dishes to very satisfactory level, etc. I couldn't complain - the thing just worked.
But.. after a month strange things started to happen. Sometimes the front panel display wouldn't turn on, although the machine appeared to do the cycle. After a week a so later, it broke totally. It wouldn't start a cycle usually, though sometimes it would, but it wouldn't be finished properly and dishes remained dirty.
Well, I called the customer service. First of all, I need to mention that it was (and it is) very hard to reach a representative. I had to hold for 30-40 minutes before someone would answered! On some days when I didn't have time to wait that long, I just hang up. Finally I reached someone and they scheduled a serviceman appointment. Well, the nearest appointment was at 2 weeks. I expressed my discontent at why this had to be that much time, but the guy told me nothing could be done earlier, so I had to wait 2 weeks. Ok, 2 weeks passed the repairman came, he looked at the dishwasher, saw the display didn't turn on and said that he has to replace the display. When I tried to tell him that this is not likely to be a problem (I am an engineer myself, so I understand some troubleshooting), he assured me that it is the problem. And of course he didn't have the part on him, so he had to order which means I have to have another appointment in 1 weeks. He comes in 1 week, replaces the display, and guess what - it didn't fix the dishwasher. He looks at it and says that he now has to replace the mainboard. This again needs to be ordered and next appointment would be in 1.5 weeks. Can you imagine my level of discontent? But wait, this story hasn't ended yet. On that appointment day, a new guy from Bosch comes and tells me that they fired my repairman and now he would take care of my problem, but.. he couldn't find the mainboard part that the old guy had ordered, so he needs to order it again. (Oh, did you count how many times these guys came to my house already?). He schedules another appointment in 1 week. This time comes and he replaces the mainboard.. But.. I doesn't fix the damn thing! Now he says that he needs to diagnose the problem, and after spending about 2 hours he gives me that there is a power board issue, so this part now needs to be replaced. But it needs to be ordered and next appointment would be in 2 weeks. Now I am writing this review and my dishwasher hasn't been fixed yet. I don't know what to do, I called to customer service multiple times (every time waiting on hold), but I have always been told that they can't replace the whole thing because the repairman has to deem it unrepairable. They will continue trying to repair it, and there's no timeframe - I could be waiting half a year before I get my dishwasher back in action. Terrible terrible customer service. I have lost my trust in Bosch brand, I do not recommend to deal with this company.
