Riveting! Couldn't Put it Down
Date of Review: Oct 31, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you like fantasy books you absolutely must read this book.
Bresingr is the third installment of the Christopher Paolini Inheritance Cycle. It was released about a month ago as the most recent addition to the trilogy containing also Eragon and Eldest. Out of the three books this one is the best, most-suspenseful by far. Eragon, the Dragonrider is united with the Varden and their forces against Galbatorix's evil empire. His dragon Sapphira is growing in size and skill as every step she and Eragon take lead them closer to the inevitable "Rider" battle with Galbatorix. In this book you see more of the Razac, learn more about Urgal culture and practices, and find out that Eragon has more to fear than just the wrath of the empire.
Previous to the Inheritance cycle, fantasy books were not at the forefront of my priority reading. However, after viewing the film version of Eragon for the first time I decided that I would read the first two books.
This book is good for readers of all ages and heightens the imagination as well as gives the reader strong visuals of the world of Eragon and of the surroundings of Alagaesia.
This young man is very talented and it is doubtful in my mind that any other dragon book could easily follow suit. I suspect that he has made his mark on literary culture, and I am eagerly awaiting the fourth and final installment.
